A Sussex-based Reptile welfare charity....

We are a small, independent, registered animal welfare charity located in West Sussex. Our mission is to provide proper care for sick, injured, and unwanted reptiles and amphibians across Sussex & Surrounding areas.

Mission statement

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome reptiles in need while fostering a deeper understanding and respect for these often misunderstood creatures.

Through compassionate care, community education, and advocacy, we strive to protect reptiles’ welfare and promote responsible pet ownership, ensuring a brighter future for reptiles everywhere.

Vision statement

We envision a world where reptiles are respected and valued as essential parts of our natural ecosystem. Through our efforts, we aspire to create a future where all reptiles live in environments that meet their needs, where misconceptions are replaced with knowledge, and where every reptile has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and caring home.

The Sussex Reptile Rescue Centre is now the only Charitable animal rescue centre in the whole of Sussex and 1 of 2 charities located on the South Coast of England, specifically caring for reptiles and amphibians.

The animals we take in come from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances. Unfortunately, due to the cost of living crisis and rising energy costs, we have seen an increase in requests for rehoming reptiles.

The SRRC is entirely self-funded, which means we rely on public donations and grants to continue our vital work in caring for sick, Injured, and unwanted Reptiles in the UK. All donations help care for reptiles needing a new home and assist in paying vet bills, medication, food, and substrate.
